Current Projects
|
|
|
DSMC is a young centre and we are quickly growing in both our activities. As DSMC grows, the centre infrastructure also needs to expand
to meet the growing needs of the members.
Below are some projects which we are currently undertaking. All projects are funded
by the kind donations of our members and fellow dhamma farers.
If you would like to help towards these current projects, please contact us here

Forever Land Project |
|
Dhamma Sukha Meditation
Centre has started a project to complete the mortgage
for the centre. To meet this objective, the land has
been 'parceled' up and put up for donation for each plot
to donors.
The current premise is
symbolically subdivided into
plots and the plots are set
up for sponsorship by
donors. In this way, our
donors can assist DSMC to
contribute to the early
release of
our mortgage. With metta.

DSMC Interview Room & Library
|
>> Status: Almost complete. Target
completion: March 2010
DSMC has commenced the construction of the
long-awaited interview room & library. Over
the years, there has been an increasing number of
long-term intensive meditators staying here and this
facility would give both meditation teacher and
students the privacy for discussion and serve as a
conducive room for quiet study and reflection
amongst the Dhamma books and Tipitaka.
Status: Complete pending final inspection and
approval.

Back Courtyard,
Garden & Wash Area
(completed October
2009) |
|
Special Thanks to David
Maloney and Mr Than
Hlaing, who started the
project by coming in one
weekend to crack up the
old backyard. AJH
Lawyers donated the
concreting costs for the
floor. Kyaw Kyaw
and Adam assisted with
the various engineering
works. Over the
month of September, most
of the breaking work was
completed. Many
supporters helped with
the work without
employing a contractor —
such physical effort is
also true ‘dana’ from
the heart. Of
course, our Sayadaw was
there leading by
example.

(completed) |
|
The old wooden fencing has
been replaced in November
2008. The costs of the
replacement was borne 50%
each by DSMC and the
adjacent neighbour. DSMC
would like to thank the
neighbour and donors for
this project.
